I took in a male cat that hadn't been neutered. He's been abused, is not very trusting and hard to handle. I had not had him neutered and he would 'invite' female strays to share his food, really! One was hiding under my deck and waiting for me to leave each time I fed him. I found this out one day and noticed she was getting much bigger after some time. So I fed her more and tried to gain her trust in order to take her to a shelter but she went off and had those kittens somewhere that I couldn't find them. I kept feeding her because I knew she had them hidden close by. Eventually they followed her to my yard. Long story short, my male was a good Cat Dad and he watched them play and slept with them too. He was really sweet, so you just never know what kind of cat you have. They're 'fixed' now, but those 3 little kittens are such a sweet memory for me and probably the last time I'll ever experience it. Veterinarians and pet food are too expensive for me to have any more. Last year I rescued 200 cats... including over 100 kittens.... a record after 21 years of rescue. 6 kittens 3 days old with their dead mom lying next to them  couldn't push out 7th baby , 4 kitten tied in plastic bag at the 10mm socket hide and seek world champion shirt, 4 kittens left in box just 12 days Old.... the cost of formula was over 1000.00 for 2017. Sadly, not all the kittens made it. So those of us who rescue.... we don't get excited by these videos because we know we are the ones who will ultimately take care of them after they are dumped. We are not going to stay silent just to make the crest of you comfortable.... spay and neuter please  Not really cat moms abandon sick kittens or runts or end up killed by a male cat sometimes and orphaned my kittens we're orphans until her sister had hers and I had to bottle feed twofof them so they make awful parents if their outdoor.
