Males can take care of kittens. One of our twin Siamese kitty’s did he took in an ferel kitten. He took care of that kitten till itty passed away. For us to find out arther our Siamese. shouldn’t even been alive. Arther had canser and the vets only could figere he wasn’t about to leave the kitten he loved so dearly....... Arthur twin brother Joshua was one of a kind too. Josh took to both of my speacel need brothers. He helped teach one of them even to roll over. By flopping onto my brother and rolling off him and let my brother (who was about two at the time) roll over and lay on him. Were they would a lot of the times take naps like that. When it happening Animals are smarter than we give them credit for.. i had a stray female cat show up and had 4 kittens.. my male westie terrier would help mom keep them warm and safe when mom would go out and do her business.. when kittens were weaned we got her spayed, and the kittens when old enough.. my dog and the mom were best friends.. when kittens were grown they thought he was one of them.. when mom passed away, Dooley, one of the kittens became best friends with him.. they cleaned each other, played with each other and slept together.. the girls preferred each other because those boys played too rough... lol Loved watching them together.. all of my pets have been neutered and spayed.. I believe in adoption but I also believe in helping the strays as well.  When cat numbers were a lot lower they evolved an ability to get pregnant by multiple fathers so quickly and with such a high sex drive that it was detrimental to their welfare. They would produce litters and litters of kittens and hope a few were strong enough to survive. Their numbers are now higher and they can relax and enjoy a better quality of life raising better litters and being more choosy with mates. Unfortunately some cats are still catching up with this. They bonk other cats left right and centre to survive and there is little evidence that female cats even enjoy sex. They just need to know their genes are spread.
