Wow know what I love about this video? How he takes the kid seriously, looks at him in all sincerity & believes & encourages him. It is so easy for someone as an adult to judge and think "kid is entitled & ungrateful" but it's different when someone tries to understand reality from the Astronauts walking on the galaxy NASA shirt of the kid instead of judging from their own adult perspective & giving condescending advice. This is very kind. That bit of advice could have saved his life and set his path for the rest of it  I’ve been that 14yo, it feels like there will never be any escape; instead of asking for shoes and handbags for my bday/Xmas, I asked for cutlery and tea towels, linens and small kitchen appliances! I left when I was 18, with enough to fill a house! it was hard, but I escaped. I love you. I wish I had listened to your stuff when I was 12/13/14 years old instead of taking 8-10 years to figure it out I would have known it before. But actually I just love the process and how much I’ve changed. Thanks for putting this out to all the youngsters. This made me cry. I have a 16 year old that gets it and stays very positive. I can only hope I planted that seed. It matters when someone really cares. You took that time w him. Even a few minutes can make a difference. Thanks for doing that, Gary. I’m sure it meant the world to him.
