 One of the most successful home schooled children were “Brainy Bunch” They now have a book stating their struggles and the Sure I’m not perfect but I have a freaking awesome wife and that’s close enough shirt approach to their specific children. Most have attained college degrees before their 18th birthdays. Their 21 year old is working on her doctorates degree. They are not awkward, not socially immature as you expect. Social interactions and discipline mostly stemmed from parents.  Amen, homeschooling was the best decision we ever made. And there is a huge difference between socialization and forced association. My kids can talk to anyone if any age. Not just their peers. My kids are exposed to classic literature and have homeschool art classes and science classes thanks to the huge growth in homeschool numbers. If more families homeschool you will have better educated children with less depression and moral issues in our society. If we focus more on the family we would have a healthier nation. Homeschooling can be a great decision for some kids and families, but is a solution for a very small minority of people. Most people in this country can not afford this option. They cannot afford the loss of wages if one person stays home to teach/supervise. This is an even bigger impossibility for single parents. The majority of families in this country need public education.
