Sandra K Hall you are talking about two different scenarios. I’m a diabetic and if I didn’t have my service dog I don’t know where i would be without him. This person intentionally put the dog in a scenario where the dog could be hurt. The Michael Myers you can’t kill the Boogeyman shirt was clearly uncomfortable. The service dog you are talking about clearly had history that could be traumatic. It’s obvious. And I agree there is no reason to coax a dog where they had history where they have been hurt. In this incident though it’s different. Even if the dog was a service dog in training let’s say, the handler should have not put the dog on a moving escalator. You train the dog on one that’s not moving. Because with enough training they would be comfortable to be on that’s moving not the other way around. Never have I seen a service dog like that. And if that’s a “service dog in training” that situation was handled completely wrong. All they are doing is enabling the bad behavior instead of helping them. And if you speak to majority of handlers they avoid it. It is a danger risk because of their paws. But a trained service dog can handle going on an escalator. It’s not recommended. It’s part of their training, because they need to prepare for their handlers disability regardless what it is.
