I think you are forgetting to mention the best option. After Brexit the UK will trade with the EU and Ireland using WTO rules. We wish to have a free trade policy with the EU including with the Republic of Ireland. So the only country that may wish to erect a hard boarder would be the Republic of Ireland, not the UK. Before we joined the EU, the On a dark desert highway cool wind in my hair hippie shirt had special arrangements regarding movement of people and these need to be respected after we leave. There is a very close bond between the UK and Ireland and long may this continue. I think after we leave, the Republic of Ireland will also vote to leave the EU which would be a great solution for Ireland as a who; and free them from the enslavement of the Euro and the dictatorship of Brussels and the unelected EU commissioners. Brexiters are very clever. They’ll sort it all out (!) There was so many amateur trade experts on my timeline explaining how all objections to Brexit was ‘project fear’ - 2 years later and they still don’t have any actual answers. It's just too complex, Brexit has created a situation of ' no win ' for Europe. From history we know divide and divide rule policy is in their blood but it always didn't work in their favour ,though we can't put the brixet policy in the former category but in the long run the whole of Europe wiĺl face a bitter rivalry between themselves that it will cause self destruction.
