I’ve been fortunate to see Temple Grandin twice. If you or someone you know is living with a child with Autism, get them to see one of her workshops. She is a facinitating woman has much knowledge to share. She has been a very successful woman. Well worth it to see her. Loved the Star Trek Starfleet Captains shirt. My all time favourite. While it educated us on autism, it had a huge impact on humanity. No one can deny that everyone can learn and grow from her experience. She is also throwing some shade on this interviewer who seems really uncomfortable with this topic; and Temple had to rephrase a couple of interviewers questions. I truly believe this. We should always build on strengths. Everyone learns differently. We can't all be put into the same box. We celebrate autism and adhd in our family because we have so many. But no one is treated differently. I was always told I was stupid. Yet I did well in subjects I enjoyed. Fractions and algebra were not my strong suit. But I could do bookkeeping. I got through college with high scores and it was medical terms. My daighter was categorized as add and put into a special class. I helped her to learn and told her she would always learn differently and to always ask for help. She went on to be on the honor role many times. She can do math of any type. Another one i took out of school because she was bored and no one would give her challenges. She can take a computer apart and put it back together. You never know.
